e bay abusive seller beware!
« on: February 15, 2013, 12:01:04 am »

    Hi All
there is a certain seller on E Bay,with a model boat ,the real one being a cargo ship that runs from Penzance to the Scilly Isles. This is at least the second time it has been offered, the last time it was taken off very suddenly. I sent him a message asking would he mind telling me what happened first time round and was there some problem.
The reply I got was this...
"WHAT I DO IS NONE OF YOUR ******* BUSINESS NOW ****** OFF.
If anyone wants to deal with him after reading this, then that is up to you,but please be warned.
Sincerely,
Mick F

I just cannot seem to get anywhere with trying to report it,as it does not come under any of their recognised grievences.

Was this the first time you had sent a question ?. EBay will not be interested, they are far to busy redesigning logos..

Yo Rotty,

If you look at the very small print at the nbottom of the actual mesage, it has a 'Report Message' link. If you click it, you will be taken to a page which allows you to report 1) Spam; 2) Threats, and 3) Profanity (which expands to say)
"Members aren’t allowed to use profanity in their communications with other members through eBay. If you receive a message with this kind of language from another eBay member and the message was sent through eBay, please report it to us immediately."

Andy

p.s. Drop me a PM with the item number if you have a minute, so I can put it on 'watch'.

   Hi mick.
I can guess what`s happened here. Mr nasty wants £x amount for his item.  He does not want to put a reserve on it as
this incurs another fee for his listing.  If it looks like he not going to get £x amount he whips it off just B4 the end of the
listing time. He will then cancel any bids on it and if you look into why your bid has been cancelled he will give some B.S.
about a part being lost or broken. He then relists it which is free.  Been there had that experience.

Best way to report him is to phone E-bay and tell them what happened. They will go into your e-bay mail and see your
request and see his XXXX reply and they will take it from there.  Contacting them direct is better than faffing about pages
of procedures and you are more likely to get them to see your point of view expressed verbally in person than by e-mail.

                                         Frank  :P

the live chat on ebay, is quite effective too.  You can talk to someone from ebay without the need for phone calls

Which is a bit silly because as discussed in another thread recently a lot of bidding action occurs in the last few seconds of an auction.

Log into ebay, then choose summary

top right next to the basket icon is customer support, click
new page opens
Look just below where its says "welcome to customer support" in big letters
you will see 2 tabs
Choose the second tab contact ebay

There is not an option to contact them re what you want so you might need to mess about a bit here to get to a live help person but persevere and you will get someone

typical e bay, what I want to report is not listed, and e bay just sends you round and round coming up with the same pages and there is no way I can send anything off to them. What a pity because the seller has had 4 bids on the item.I cannot believe he has 100% feedback!
Think I will call a close to it now as I am not getting anywhere
Thanks to all for your suggestions
Mick F
PS has anyone else tried to contact him,to ask the same question to see what answer you get? I dont feel I can mention it on here but if anyone wants to PM me for details?

I built this one. It's a lovely model with a working crane. Pulls well on the water and looks great.  I can see why you want one.

Is the bay one built, or still a kit. ?

Sorry Ken,I do not want to give this Moron any publicity,or help him sell it,I just want him banned,so with respect, please have a look yourself.I just hope no one gets duped and receives the same offensive abuse as I have done.

Not that I doubt the opening post, however like most Trader type issues threads we are only seeing 1 side of the story . The seller has been on ebay for 10 years and has a 100% rating which is blinking hard to do on ebay so they must be doing something correctly.
A quote from an email has been used which is against Forum rules without permission from the sender (or is that just for Forum Pm's?)

Admittedly a simple "Sorry it is my Business and I do not need to give reasons" would have been better.  :-))

He's a huge fleet for sale.

The seller concerned joined a local model boat club last summer and quickly bought a large number of model boats off various club members. ( The Yorkshireman was built and sold to him by me )

Following a disagreement with another club member, the seller has not renewed his club membership for 2013 and has placed all the boats and radio gear for sale on Ebay, some others were sold off in November.

All of these boats are already built and are all excellent models.

I make no comment at all about the seller since I have no knowledge of his activities on EBay.

I am glad you dont doubt my integrity! I also have been on e bay for between 12  and 15 years and I also have 100% feedback.I would never treat my buyers to any such language If I could post my simple question I posed to him on here, then I would ,as well as his reply so you could see "both sides and not just one" Yes I do agree a polite reply would have been in order. And note a further comment from another Mayhemmer,in that he joined a club and fell out with a fellow member in a short time.I think that that speaks for itself.
I think I have acheived my aims, in warning other mayhem members to stear clear
Many Thanks,
Mick F
