RE: Form submission from http://www.stobartgroup.co.uk
Hi,

We did have a truck with the name Vaentino after the famous motor cyclist it is now out of service.

That was the only male name on a truck.

Thank you

One of my hobbies is collecting 1/50 modern trucks and im a bit of a spotter of anything to do way wagons. I go to truckfest Scotland every year and if you seen the effort the drivers put in to the upkeep of their wagons it would shock ya. My collection of models is prob worth in the region of£10k and I have been buying 1/76 stobarts for my 7 month son for when he's older and his collection is standing around the £300 pound mark at the moment.

And the only wagon stobart currently has in its fleet with a non girls name is the teletubbie which is a mobile screen wagon for events and shows

I was an HGV driver for Stobart for 20 years and met lots of spotters at the various depots, nice people very dedicated to their hobby, it was good to have people waving and giving a pip on their horn, as they passed on the m/way,s

I used to get hundreds of people blow their horns and wave at me when I drove the sweeper.

Normally the one fingered wave, followed up with a cheery comment, like "get that f*^%$£n' heap of c>*^p out of my f**%£% way"

how do I know if it's a photoshop job?
according to http://www.stobartgroup.co.uk/ and the email from them there are NO trucks with male names.
but then could it be that these names are for females.
the REG would end doubt on the photoshop idea and also the originator of the names can be traced.

No argue so far IMHO

a Volvo FH12 was christened "Valentino" after Valentino Rossi, the legendary Italian motorcycle racer, which caused a furore among spotters.  PX10 DFO

Was still in service in January 2013

Also apparently a " Man " Truck !! was named Optimus Prime"
Can't find my sons spotter book to confirm if still in service

And modest too {-) {-)

By Stobart's own admission they did have a truck with a male name, Valentino. Maybe it's out of service now but it seems quite apparent that there is now another one, Ozzy Jude. This would seem to put paid to the claim that they NEVER name their trucks after males. O0

There is always someone who want to prove ther people wrong because they do not trust people, they can never accept that others might know something they do not
