I'm not a crew member but would like to thank you and your crew. Me and friend traveled round England last August bank holiday visiting every station to raise money. We happened on you guys on your family fun day and you very kindly took us out on the seven, it was a reserve boat at the time, just lifeboat as yours was in Poole. You also feed and watered us with the BBQ! So just thank you for an unforgettable 2 hours!

No problem Ryan. Yes the city of London was on her refit. We had RNLB the will. Relief boat.

Glad you had a good time. All stations are welcoming to people, if the pagers havnt gone off that is.  :-)

We had a visit one day from some school kids, half way through the tour of the boat the pagers went off, it was mass panic to clear the boat and get off the pontoon.  :embarrassed:

He was relief coxswain at our station not do long ago.

Funny bloke, had a good laugh, he is back down again in sept.

Didn't manage to get him out on the beer tho. Will try harder next time. I'm to sure where he is at the moment either. The life of a nomad.....

If you see him ask him about his experience of rope splicing down here, should have a good story to tell. Lol.

He usually calls in to the station from time to time. I'll pass the info to the Mechanic and DLA who are good friends.

Was part time shore crew during school (couldn't join fuly because of my A-level exams). Hopefully if i get an apprenticeship in the boatyard then I'll join properly. My dads on the crew (both boats - severn class RNLB Christopher Pearce and D- class RNLB Angel of Holyhead) and my granddad was winch operator in the old lifeboat station when we had the Tyne class

Hello lifeboatman,

yes, I've been on the lifeboat here at Ramsey, Isle of Man since 1981, am now one of two DLAs as my sea time ended after 25 years. My wife is the deputy head launcher here as well as the LPO. So whenever there's a call we both rush off for the boathouse. The cats have become attuned to the pagers, virtually clinging to the wallpaper as they trill away a callout tone.

Prior to RNLI service I was, 1973 to 1981, an auxiliary Coastguard, standing watches at Ramsey MRSC and also a member of the Cliff Rescue Team.

 Hi

I was crew on Scarborough's D class and Mersey class Lifeboats . I joined the crew early 91 when Scarborough still had the Oakley Class boat, I left due to work commitments 2000
