Hi ya
malcfLook forward to seeing the build, but may I comment on your choice of motors? Avoid the Johnsons not unless you want the model to go like a low flying missile

and the battery life to last about 3 mins

. I myself have used these fan cooled Johnson motors before in the 1:48 scale Leeds Castle and they were driving through a 2 to 1 gearbox and boy could the Leeds Castle shift. Scale speed of about 300 mile per hour I think.
on a serious note though, have you thought about running on the Graupner 500 motors, the model you are building will be about 60 inches long, at 1:96 scale and I would image, Graupner 500 s on 6 volt will push this model along quite easily. These are the motors I fitted into HMS York and have no problem pushing this model along, the props are only about 35 ml diameter but they are scale 5 bladed props and also I have an ACTion P93 is it??? I cant remember - just back into this modelling scene you know

. This ACTion contraption aids the turning tremendously of the model and if your funds can stretch to it, I would advise getting one. I have put a link on to the York build I did, so you can have a look at the motors and the P93 set up.
