Brewing full grain mash beer
« on: February 07, 2014, 11:40:14 am »

Hi I am a brewer of real ales, been back doing this for a few years now after a break when life got in the way, she has gone now

Some of my basic set up which is slowly getting more technical.

Extractor fan.

The fairly serious gas ring.

Chiller coil for running cold water through at the end of the boil.

The finished product.

How long do you have to boil it for?

It depends on what type of beer you are brewing, I am just at present on 90minute boil, adding most of the hops at the start of the boil and some more for the last 15minutes.........Are you a brewer ?

I always remember as a kid my Mum making home made wine, not from kits she got everything separate. Stuff bubbling, airlocks popping and a terrible stench from the spare bedroom...well to me it was. Looks like a great set up you have and after it is done and you have worked hard on restoring your cars you can sit and have a bottle of your hand made ale.

Si:)

Ah! not found the thread, you are to first to mention it, sadly I can't make that as it is The Austin A30/A35 Owners Club International Rally that weekend and being a committee member I am expected and enjoy going, so I'm off to Exmouth in my Austin A30 :-)
