Tank Firing mechanism
« on: May 27, 2014, 01:43:21 pm »

Hi guys,
I am looking for some kind of mechanism to go in the end of my battleship gun barrels. They would be the same type as what the model Tank boys have.Hopefully this will include as the high powered red bulb that gives off a flash as well as perhaps a sound system, but I suspect that this would not be suitable, because as well as the big bang for the 15inch guns, they also have a machine gun sound also.I am not capable of making my own so would be looking at the complete flash unit.I dont really know what to search for on a certain auction site.Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction please?
As usual,
many thanks,
Mick F

Hi rottweiler,
This company http://www.modelsoundsinc.com/index.php do what you require, they are located in canada, but they are not cheap.
i have one of the systems and they are very small about the size of a matchbox with built in amp and syncronised flashing LED to sound. this can be loaded onto the chip or you get the sounds from the company's libray and load it yourself it's very good loud, but not cheap.

Tom,
I have four turrets, ideally I would like one barrel in each to work, but just two turrets working with 1 barrel each would be great

My initial thoughts would be high power led flashes in each barrel connected to all fire in sequence when you trigger it. However there are other options, the flashes from a disposable camera work well, for this purpose. A fella on the tank forum I'm on is building a Sherman calliope which does something similar (multiple barrels going off in sequence). I'll investigate further and get back to you.

This may sound silly, but cant you use a control box from Xmas tree
