Sorry Neil.......things are a bit tough in OZ at the moment  <:(...so could you please confirm your MasterCard number so I can book our flights  O0

We need  ok2

4 x baggage class seats... for the individual didgeridoo players
2 x business class seats... for the cultural attaché & her assistant
2 x business class seats... for the musical director & the didgeridoo tuner
1 x first class seat... for the ensemble manager  = me........... O0

We would of course also need to use your Credit Card for humble lodgings & food for all whilst in the UK

Could you please suggest a reasonably reasonable venue?......I have it on good report that the 'Savaloy' Hotel in London is OK  :o...have you ever stayed there?....do they have any OZ beers on tap?

My conservative estimate of costs to provide the OZ musical background for your nautical documentary is approx. $65K  {-)... so just mention this in passing to your BBC people..........Derek...............

thank you for your wonderful offer Derek........to have a groupie before I have even been made famous.......even it if is for only 15 minutes...........how could I not take you up on my offer.......and for such a modest price too.......get your bags packed matey, I shall reclaim it on expenses....

my mastercard number is......   0414 1912 0407 1915 ,    exp date: 39 25, security no. 109
..................ever get that sinking feeling {-) {-) {-)

I am Nigerian Forren Minister, Dr Bagless Bladder and as soon as I saw your credit card number acted immediately!
I have deposited 66.6million GB ponds into your account which I have been trying to get rid of for ages.
This is not one of those 50-50 scams, the whole lot is for you.
To be honest, I'm totally fed up with Americans sending money, so I'm giving it all up and taking up fishing.
Most sincerest wishes for you good health and fortune ever
Bagless

The 'grumpies' are merely flagging up warnings from personal experience so don't shoot the messenger.

We have yet to hear from someone who has first hand experience of a life enhancing experience when tangling with the media.

Bob Abell's experience with BBC 'Coast' a while back turned out to be rather different to what he expected and although the result was generally OK, all the best stuff he was looking forward to seeing never made it into the feature. I don't think he would jump at the chance again.

The bottom line is that you have virtually no control whatsoever as to what will eventually appear on screen (or in print) and it is this which has generated a lot of disappointment in the past.

My experience with a local paper was the same. The main point was ignored and an almost off hand aside became the headline for the story.  It wasn't bad, but it was a skewing of the facts.
