What size and make of bow thruster has anybody used on this model, and how do they perform.

With independent twin screws you may find a bow thruster academic, you can put these vessels anywhere. In my opinion a thruster is not worth the bother, been there and got the T shirt. Nemesis

Hi Boat Captain,
When I built my 1/16 Speedline Severn I used a Raboesch 22/25 bow thruster. Haven't got independent motor control ,find this works well for me.
Got mine from Cornwall Model Boats about £ 36 .
Hope this helps.

Hi Gerard

Off a the mark a bit but when I purchased my 1/16 severn i was told the rudders will need altering, did you have to do the same and if so how and to what size.

Hi Tim, with regard to your rudder question, yes I had to increase the size of mine, using the ones supplied I found it didn't react to rudder control very well, bought two larger ones from Cornwall model boats part no RMA 3064 medium rudder 55x36 @ £4.49 each, then bulked them up with car body filler, now turns very well. Hope this helps , if I can be of any other help just ask.
Regards Gerard

Hi Tim

Mine are the ones supplied they are 55X40 built up with plasticard and body filler.

I am only just starting this build so don't know how she will handle yet,
