Next Speedline lifeboat kit?
« on: September 11, 2016, 11:10:29 pm »

You might think this a bit premature but what next?
The new 1/12 Trent is definitely the next one but that's half done already, I need to be thinking eighteen months ahead so how about an inshore lifeboat?
I like the look of the Atlantic 85 and I think I can make high performance scale outboards for it so............
I will need some help with the 3D CAD though ;-) .....
I'm going to the NEC this month to find out what's the latest on 3D printing and scanning.
The show is on for 2 days and its really interesting.
I am still going to do a scale crew for the Shannon's, the actual crew from Hoylake is what I want to do but costs at present are too high and I can't pinch the whole crew for a day so a good handheld scanner is what I need and for less than a grand.

Anyway what's your vote?
Adrian

A RIB hull that can be adapted to suit other models is certainly missing from the market.
For other models it need not have all the fittings.   There are so many alternative 'superstructures' and propulsion systems around

At our station we have just in the last few weeks had an 85 on station.Only a metre longer than our old 75 but feels a lot lot bigger.A model of an 85 is sure to be a good seller I would think  :-)) hopefully look forward to seeing that.

Another yes for Atlantic 85 in 1/12 scale. Been a while since I built my lesro 21 but still turns heads when sailing it and would be brilliant to have an updated version to a far far better standard.
