Hi all,
I don't really buy cheapo tools as they rarely stand up to the work for any length of time, mega cheap rechargeable drills being the classic. BUT! when in Lidl a year or so ago I spotted a small bench top 6 inch Parkside sanding disc machine for £29.95. In a moment of madness I splashed out and put one in the trolley.
That little disc sander has been brilliant, quiet, powerful, fully adjustable table, variable speed. The on/off switch stopped working last week, a new one from component shop was fitted in 5 minutes and still it goes on.
The grinder has the same pedigree and probably the same motor, so I'll be looking for one next week.
Not all cheapo tools are rubbish, now and again you can find a good one.
I have a few Proxxon gadgets. Their Pillar drill and Milling table and Micro cutting MIC, a sort of small circular saw, plus a couple of their mini drills....They are OK but not worth the prices they are asking most of the time.
Ron.
