We were very  fortunate to have Model Slipway members of Kirklees M B C in those early days.I hope you all agree that Lawrie and Jackie have produced some fabulous models over the thirty years in business. It's sad news that another major trader is standing down. All at Kirklees M B C wish you well in all your future endeavours. I am sure many more clubs will second my comments.

Jackie and Lawrie,

Truly sorry to hear this but you have really earned your retirement and done so much for the hobby. The Model Slipway range has always been considered a standout product of the very highest quality as very many happy boaters will attest.

Best wishes to you both,

Colin

Is there any chance of selling the business to at least give you a few bottles of bubbly to toast your retirement?

As Bob says, that would be good if at all possible.

As announced on the MSW website, Lawrie and Jackie to fully retire with effect from 1 September. Here's hoping someone buys the business!

Hmmm, didnt see this posting! Can a mod delete my post about MSW in the Chit chat forum, please?
Ive had 3 MSW kits and I have to say, they were the best ones I could have bought. I only wish I had bought Conserver when I had the chance and now am very unlikely to be able to do so.
I hope the business is sold and someone can continue it but Im all too aware even without the ludicrous lockdown and trashing of the economy, running a business for a worthwhile profit nowadays is a big ask.
Thank you Lawrie and Jackie, enjoy your retirement.

I too was a big fan of Model Slipway.  I built the Loyal fleet tender about 11 years ago.  A pleasure to build, as it was my first somewhat complicated boat.  Jackie & Lawrie were a big help when I broke a couple of parts.  One email to them and replacements arrived very quickly, no charge, even for postage to the US.

So sorry to see you go. My favourite kit producer of all time. Thank you for the hundreds of hours I have enjoyed building your kits. Thank you for always welcoming my Wife and I at the factory unit to collect kits and showing us around.
Your retirement will leave a great void in our hobby. On behalf of all the members of Derby Model Boat Club, may you enjoy many happy years at your leisure.

Very best wishes from Andy and all our member at Derby MBC.

Take care.

Always had good service from them. Have built 3 Trent's, a Tamar, Wyeforce tug and a Tsekoa II. Fun to both build and sail. Where to find another such class supplier?  Best wishes J&L
