Lisa M
« on: May 29, 2022, 08:40:21 pm »

Hi Just one picture this will be my next project after the work on Bugsier 3 is finished. The model will be a smaller version of Grand Banks and with little thought the model can be transformed into something far different from the basic kit. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

The planking is now well under way and my gut feeling this will be a good build when finished. To eliminate the white ply showing through the strip joints I have blinded the deck with 0.6 teak veneer prior to fitting the strip wood.

A further selection of pictures. Rudder tube supports glued to the hull ready for the tubes to be fitted. To give a larger deck glueing area 1/4 sq balsa is fitted to the hull sides. Final picture shows the rear section of the superstructure and battery box. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Hi, interesting to watch again. One question ref pic  li8sa m 3.jpg:  Is the well deck capping strip asymmetrical for a reason or is it just a trick of the camera on the photo?

Hi Stan, I noticed on the pic before.  I had some funny things going on on my policeboat kit which looks same as yours in this area.  The laser cutting out the box is not all right from Krick.  I'm sure you corrected it but it looked a bit weird to me on the earlier pic?  Maybe it wasn't glued down then?  I'm only interested as I said I thought my parts from Krick didn't entirely fit right in the well deck considering it's laser cut.

Hi Rich I think you mean the overhang does not look equal. It is when the front part of the superstructure is fitted it blends in very nicely. The kit will be modified going for twin rudders and twin props more pictures next week when the electrics are fully installed. I have to agree the laser cut wood is far from perfect using the parts to build the rear well it was to big and would not fit in the deck opening. Looking at the picture when this was taken the capping rail was not glued in place hope this helps

Hi Stan, if I recall the back-wall of my deck-house is cut assymetric also compared to the other parts.  Thanks for confirming the parts for the rear well don't fit either.  That with the deck well, gave me putting my one on a back-burner last year.  Mine will be 2x drives also I think.  It will be interesting to see your build of it.  I love to see something based on a basic kit and how it compares!
