Motors for - 51" model lifeboat ?
« on: November 24, 2024, 06:20:33 pm »

Via email to Mayhem ...

martin, i have tried to post a new question on the dc motors section 4 times a few minutes ago with two pictires and sadly it just won't post. is there any reason for it. forum wise, as i havent been a naughty boy. the post is about motors to use on a heavy lifeboat and reads...     I have two sets of motors that i hope will power my 51" model lifeboat and was hoping for any advice as to whether eiother pair will power such a big boat.

motors for my heavy barnet lifeboat.

the first pair are JOHNSON HC 970 Series. I cannot see the input range on them but would imagine that they are at least capable of 12v input

The second set  although physically smaller are BUHLER MOTORS and are rated at 12 - 18 volt input.

Or would i be better getting some other matching motors.........if so would the 800's do the job.
