Related to EVs again. I am seeing more and more HGV1 and HGV2 equivalent EVs here in China. I was near a quarry in the south last month, and more than 50% of the trucks hauling stone were EVs. The engine/motor noise is much less, even up hills, and no being choked by Diesel fumes. The tire noise remains, but the roads are much quieter.
For several years now many busses have been replaced with electric busses, even in remote rural areas.
For the nature lovers, the background road noise is much quieter and you can hear the birds; more importantly they can hear each other for breeding purposes.
This video shows a battery swap station for heavy trucks. Automated machinery removes the empty battery and replaces it with a fully charged one. The rapid exchange eliminates the need for lengthy charging.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/IMMA2EDGBXg I suspect the video is sped up a bit, but it is still fast, and faster than filling tanks with Deisel fuel.
