Hi all, its Saturday night and I am usually out dancing ballroom and Latin, which I also do 3 -4 times during the week. So it is unusual to be here on Saturday night but of my two lady partners, one is unwell and the other out of the country.
Now I know of at least 2 other keen model boaters who dance! Are we the only ones?

It should appeal to those technically minded as there are particular steps associated with each of the 9 or 10 dances that I like. And you have to utilise them in the best way to get around the dance floor. To the uninitiated there are 3 kinds of steps. Going along the dance floor, getting round corners, avoiding other dancers, all the time making the lady look good. Any one who thinks its easy, listen to what the male celebrities say on on Strictly Come Dancing. Its a great deal of fun and keeps the weight down!

Its like going round a regatta course with everyone else on the water as well but none of them following the same course.
And then of course there are the ladies............there are always lots of them!

Otherwise I play Duplicate Bridge twice a week and take my turn as Tournament Director.

I fill in the spaces with being Secretary of my model club. You have to be retired to do the above and I think it keeps you young (er) and I can recommend it!

P.S. I am working on 2 sailing boats at the moment and have got 2 boats on to the water so far this year.

Other Hobbies, well, I do enjoy hitting a little white ball round a big field and occassionally it falls into a hole after megahits.

My wife insists I enjoy caravanning!!!!!

For those Austin 7 enthusiasts, I can harken back to the 1950,s when I had an Austin 7 Special. Body by Colin Chapman ( later of Lotus fame). The engine had an alloy head, lightened flywheel , double valve springs - Go in those days!!! Only trouble was it still had the original Austin front end with cable brakes, every time I wanted to stop quickly I had to look for a gap 'cause the bloody thing didn't know how to stop!!!! Go over 55 and the headlights fell off!!!

Well I am new to this forum, done model boats years ago, just got back into it with a Prestwich Models Puma Boat, you may of seen my posts of trying to sort out my SC61 engine, but all my other hobbies are still based around R/C, Planes, Cars, 1/5 scale bikes, Vintage Tamiya models, and best of all Helicopters ! I have 10 of them, from mad 3D machines to scale models getting more into scale as the years go by, 3D flying is very hard work at my age and my eyes aint what they used to be. I like to restore models, my latest is a 1979 Morley 47G helicopter, you know the MASH M/C was a pile of junk a real basket case, you cant imagine the kick I got when that first took to the sky! Helicopters have got to be the most rewarding things to fly, its not easy takes you years but its got to be the ultimate form of R/C there is. This boat just came along so thought I would have another go, but to be honest I wish I had never seen it, or the engine that is, I can hear e-bay a calling!

I've built one kit car and rebuilt another in the last couple of years as I love the older cars so I don't have to worry about computer controlled engines etc. I've also always been interested in sea sailing and built a couple of small yachts and also a 17ft canal cruiser in the past. My other hobbies all involve woodworking.
The model boats came about because I'm now a full time carer to my sweet wife who's been a stroke victim for 12 years now, so the cars are sat un-used as are my model aircraft and I now fear are my boats, But hey the therapy is great ::)

Hi everyone, and a happy new year to you all. As you can see I play an upright bass (when its too cold to build my models) with a couple of mates and we play rock & roll and rockabilly (stray cats, bill hayley etc.) we have not played any gigs we just play for fun (a great way to annoy the neighbours!!!!)

My other hobby is Model Railways. At the moment I am half way through building a new layout. Three weeks before Christmas I finished my wiring up and tried out the circiut and low and behold I had a couple of crossed wires between the four controllers. So I decieded to give it up until I had finished building the boat and wait until after christmas and until I come back from my weeks respite in Barton Hospital. I have enclosed a picture of one side of the wiring panel there are three more like this,so two crossed wires can't be to bad. And you thought wiring a boat could be hard work.

Hi my other hobbies are riding, tuning and racing my motorcycles, well my daughter races more than me, i have done this for 30 years and love it ,now using my tuning skills to tune zenoah engines ,
also i play guitar lead and bass(badly)
was a kickboxing instructor but gave that up as a crash very kindly broke my back, I still train but not so hard now .
i learned to read and write about 5 years ago as i was playing truant and playing with engines when i should have been at school.
still learning how to use these PC`s so thats my interests and hobbies covered ??
Oh two other hobbies are the female form and the pub

My other hobbies include playing the piano and melodeon (Button Accordion). Also I have started building model RC racing cars.

My other hobbies consist of water colour painting (landscapes) but I must admit that I haven't done a picture now for a few years since taking up model boat building. However only last week I puchased a sheet of bockingford(have I spelt it right?) which her indoors is badgering me to put paint on it. If I start I know what will happen..."Stop splashing paint all over the carpet". Don't get this when I am building boats because I am in the garage. My other new hobby is to build small live steam engines and to this end I treated myself to a Lathe on which I am practicing turning etc.
I also used to do quite a bit of star gazing but as I get older the bones start to feel the night chill plus her indoors!! well, she won't let me buy another telescope( I know I'll spend the money on a good Model Boat.
This is a great Forum and it takes me away from my Computer games which is a good thing. All the best. Ceres

had no probs with mtb bikes the only people to complain are some walkers but i am verry polite when on me bike trail bikes motor type i have seen some up on the moors but dont know as how the law stands
