Speedo current draw ??

Hello, On connecting my 125A "SUPPO" electronic speed control I get quite a spark ( using my safety loop as isolator) & when programming (I stopped) it was getting quite warm. Is this normal ?? Should I be running cooling water during this procedure ?? Motor wasn't running, wiring & components are matched correctly....

Update...One smoked speedo, with water cooling. I thought that this couldn't be right.. My first adventure into in FE  >:-o

With no motor running,and only programming the esc,then no,it should not get warm.....ever. :o Re-check your wiring,as it sounds like you may well have a short somewhere,or the polarity is reversed somewhere.

Just as a matter of interest Larry,what voltage were you planning on operating at? Too high a voltage is the only other way that the esc could heat up like that.

Running 6 Lipos on a 125A Suppo, the manufacturer rate it 4-6 Lipos...But it also crossed my mind... Thanks for your input.. :-))
