, from time of impact at about 12 seconds into the video, the Chiddingfolds continued astern wake can be seen at the 15 second time until the 42 seconds point [approx 27 seconds after impact]

So whilst we hear the words "Full Ahead" at 2 seconds into the video, initially may suggest a control instrument failure however as no Ahead motion is seen

A questioning point is why no alarm [pending alarm] sounding was made prior to impact?

It might indeed be some sort of control failure but bear in mind that the standard advice when your ship pokes a hole in the side of another one is to keep plugging it to reduce the amount of flooding in the other vessel and give the crew a chance to close watertight doors etc. The worst thing you can do is to back out as happened with the Stockholm/Andrea Doria and Empress of Ireland/Storstadt collisions.

The audio [from the Chillingfold] in the video is surprisingly clear......I am sure many other words will have been 'said' or 'yelled' as in command will be forthcoming

Those 27 seconds are still worrying to me

Disneyland afloat! or Las Vegas at sea.

These 'ships' are basically just self contained floating (sort of all inclusive) resorts - but you can't go for a walk in the locality!

They make more money from the onboard extras than the fares apparently.

Some ports, such as Barcelona and Dubrovnik are banning or limiting these monsters as they swamp the local attractions.

In my view there are several of these gargantuan floating hotels vying for the title of Ugliest Blot on the World's Oceans, but this one is certainly in with a shout. I guess if you are a passenger you don't actually have to look at what is carrying you!
