I heard at lunchtime today was the news that Lesro Models have transferred all of their copyrights and sole right of manufacture of Aerokits and other kit names which Lesro owned to another company (believed it is to be called Vintage Model Boat Company).

This new company will redraw all kits using TurboCad and a single set of parts for each kit will be laser cut for an experienced “kit basher” to fit together to resolve any errors. The drawings will then be corrected to suit the kit basher's findings before anymore kits are produced.
Some kits have already been passed on for the test build process according my lunchtime source.
I believe that this will be “all done and dusted” in two weeks.
Lesro will continue to supply the new kits alongside the Vintage Model Boat Company,so I am told.

Didn't Jokita/Cauldercraft go down this route buying the rights to the aerokit range only to find they didn't. Caldercraft have the Sea Queen from the aerokit range so we will have to see what range this vintage model boat company actually get.

I wonder where that leaves Jotika who also supposedly own the rights to Aerokits designs and have already released two models. (Sea Queen and Sea Commander)

There is an organisation called Vintage Model Works which makes a Fireboat which I think Lesro sell. There's an ad in the latest Model Boats.

Yes, I wonder where that leaves Jotika................? Allegedly Lesro had the sole rights from Les Rowel

Vintage Model Boat Company already kit the large fire boat , its something like £245, plus £50 for a set of the heaveyest fittings you will ever see.

all very interesting, but are they going to re release the Atlantic 21 lifeboat kit that Lesro were trying to sell on ebay some months back, lock sock and barrell for £2500.00......that would be very interesting indeed

Apparently all details will finally be revealed sometime next week.
Saw a nicely packaged kit today with a good photo assembly instruction booklet. Unfortunately my phone wiped the two pictures of the kit from its memory when my keys got stuck in the case.
Now things will get interesting.....

The Atlantic 21 lesro did was a good kit iv built one and still got one unbuilt somewhere in my shed

I saw that Lesro were advertising it but without plans, fittings, rudder, prop-shaft etc. which will add quite a bit to the £60 they are quoting for the kit without them. The plans alone being £14.50. I can understand them wanting to keep costs down and allow options but the full works won't be cheap when it's finished and is expensive when compared to the Aeronaut Diva, for example, which comes complete with all fittings etc at £69 approx.

I do hope it does well though for them though as it's one of an iconic series of boats that many of us would like to see back on the water....

You will not need the plans - the assembly instruction booklet is a very well illustrated step-by-step photo montage. Take a GOOD look at the photo in one of my posts - the cover page is shown there.

we will have full details on our website later this week at www.vintagemodelboats.com but for now details in brief Sea Scout kit is complete in the wood dept all laser cut and will require a fittings kit at £19.95 ( or you provide prop shaft motor coupling rudder and prop yourself as a lot of modellers allready have these in there workshops ) making a total price of £79.95
next is the new see breeze kit at £59.95 which photo is attached and to follow next two weeks will be the fast patrol boat ill let you know when website will be with an on-line shop

Pretty useless, no running gear its an "extra".
Also doesn't post oustside UK.

Not reallay a renowned model in that sense.
Plus the boat on fleabay is different to the pix on this forum.

They where never sold with running gear and I for one wouldn't want it anyway as I build my own plus a lot of people have there own favourite make of running gear,kit manufactures always seem to put there cheap running gear in and the number of complaints on hear about supplied prop's , they both look like the new sea scout as far as I can see.

I have to say I disagree with the "Not really renowned model" bit too.... In my youth, which is admittedly a fair while ago, this range of boats were what every lad with an interest in model boats aspired to. Not everyone could afford the Sea Queen but the smaller models like the Sea Scout and Sea Nymph started many a youngster off in model boating.... Now that I'm back to my modelling I shall be making one of the series for old time's sake, I'm just trying to make up my mind which but it could certainly be this Sea Scout, it would bring a big smile to my face..
